D.C. Sports Chat Streaming Live From Manassas
D.C. Sports Chat, a radio internet show, goes live from Manassas every Thursday and Sunday night.
Sports fans know them as JWalk and Moose; both J.T. Wilson (Moose) and Josh Walker (JWalk) were born and raised in Manassas and know a great deal about the D.C. sports arena.
It all started in 2009 when the duo went online and created a hub for written news about the Capitals, Nationals, Wizards and Redskins.
Then, during last year's football season, the two launched the 'Jwalk and Moose Show'— an online radio show that streams live every Thursday and Sunday at 8 p.m.

The show is the best of old and new media. The online platform allows for an interactive show where listeners can visit a chatroom during the broadcast and post comments or ask a question; while the entertainment value of a genuine live sports talk radio show is not lost.
The venture is one both are very passionate and serious about.

Right now, the show is a "fun hobby" the duo admits, but both agree they would like to see it grow and possibly be picked up by a radio station.
"If I just thought this was a hobby, I wouldn't be doing it," said Walker, who works full time as a physical education teacher for Manassas City Schools and coaches the boys freshmen basketball team at Osbourn. "We have aspirations...we want to turn it into something more," he added.
The two are constantly updating themselves on the latest sports news and watch all the games in preparation for the two shows per week, which last an hour each. If we are busy with work or family life, we record the shows and watch them later, said Wilson, who is a Prince William County Firefighter/Medic, husband and father.
Sundays are dedicated to the Redskins in the Post Game Show, but Wilson said the intention for the Thursday show is to cover all sports and incorporate special guests. "We are adding people each month, we have at least one guess per week" he said.
The DC Sports Chat team has also reached out to the local business community and , a popular sports bar and eatery that just opened at Hastings Marketplace.
And because of their strong ties to the Manassas area (Walker is a graduate of Stonewall Jackson H.S. and J.T. attended Emmanuel Christian School), there are plans to cover local sports on the show.
The Manssas area is home to some of the best athletic talent, many of whom have gone on to play for Division One schools or even for the NFL, and D.C. Sports Chat plans to tap into that.
Walker said he would also love to have Osbourn head basketball coach, Mike Dufrene on the show.
"They [Osbourn Eagles] have some of the best talent this year I have ever seen," Walker said.
