Driver Dies After Being Thrown From Car in Manassas: Police
Authorities are investigating a crash that caused fatal injuries for a 26-year-old driver on Tuesday in Manassas.

MANASSAS, VA — A fatal crash occurred in Manassas on Tuesday night when a car hit a curb and flipped multiple times, police said.
The driver, 26-year-old Alex Randy Portillo, died at the hospital from injuries suffered in the crash. A passenger in Portillo's car, a 24-year-old woman, suffered minor injuries.
The crash occurred around 10:45 p.m. on Tuesday in the 8400 block of Sudley Road. Investigators believe Portillo was speeding while driving his 2014 Honda Civic eastbound. Near Rixlew Lane, he lost control of the car and hit a curb.

After hitting the curb, the Honda Civic rolled over several times, authorities said. Portillo, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was thrown from the car. The car eventually stopped in a business's parking lot, police said.
The female passenger was wearing a seatbelt and only suffered minor injuries.

First responders took Portillo to an area hospital where he died as a result of his injuries.
