Driver Wearing Cowboy Hat Brandishes Firearm In Manassas: Police

An SUV driver pointed what appeared to be a firearm at another vehicle in the Manassas area Wednesday morning, according to police.

MANASSAS, VA — An SUV driver pointed what appeared to be a firearm at another vehicle in an area southeast of Manassas Wednesday morning, according to the Prince William County Police Department.

At 11 a.m. Wednesday, police officers went to the area of Minnieville Road and Dumfries Road to investigate a road rage incident. The victim, a 21-year-old man, reported to police that he was traveling on Minnieville Road when the driver of a Toyota Sequoia almost collided with his vehicle.

At one point, both drivers were stopped at a traffic light when the suspect brandished what appeared to be a firearm toward the victim and the victim’s passenger, the police said. The victim was able to drive away and contacted the police.

Officers canvassed the area for the suspect who was not located. The suspect is described as a white male, 50 to 60 years of age, who was wearing a cowboy-style hat. The suspect was driving a newer model Toyota Sequoia.
