Eagles Back in the Playoffs
Osbourn travels to Gar-Field for quarterfinals of football regional playoffs.

November is settling in and only 24 AAA Division 6 football teams remain in the state of Virginia. The Osbourn Eagles (7-3, 3-1) are one of them.
For the sixth time in the past seven seasons, Head Coach Steve Schultze has taken the Eagles to the post-season. Saturday the team travels to Gar-Field High School to take on the Indians (8-2, 5-1) at 1 p.m.
"It's a great feeling and it's exciting," Schultze said. "I'm definitely proud to be in the playoffs again."

The Eagles and Indians did not meet in the regular season, but are not unfamiliar opponents. The two teams scrimmaged in the pre-season—a match-up in which Osbourn scored multiple times and did not give up a score.
"We feel prepared," Schultze said. "They've won some games; they are running the ball well, so they definitely have gained some confidence."

"I keep reminding the guys that this is not the same team and it is tough to beat a team twice in one season, so we need to be focused," Schultze said.
Gar-Field finished the season 8-2, with their only losses coming from No. 1 seed Hylton and No. 2 seed Battlefield. Osbourn ended their regular season on a bye week, giving them an extra week to prepare.
"...We are very anxious to play. This is an exciting time, I would love to get on a roll like '06 and '08," Shultze said. "We're good enough, we just need to protect the ball."
