Neighborhood Conference is Nov. 19 in Manassas

Excitement is building for the 5th Annual City of Manassas Neighborhood Conference, happening Sat., Nov. 19 from 10 am to 2 pm at the Manassas Boys & Girls Club, 9501 Dean Park Lane, Manassas (off Wellington Road behind Jennie Dean Elementary School).

This year’s conference theme, presented by City of Manassas Neighborhood Services, is "Healthy Neighborhoods:   Connecting People, Ideas & Resources!" 

Register for one morning and one afternoon workshop among your choices of:

  • "Get Out of Operating in the Red - HOA Financial Tips"
  • "It's Easy Being Green - Organic Community Landscaping"
  • "Volunteer Power!"
  • "Lead by Example: Understanding Code Enforcement"

Housing counselors will be available to talk to concerned homeowners, but you must preregister to make an appointment for private consultation.

Applications for sponsors and exhibitors are still being taken by Neighborhood Services, but space is limited.  More than 250 residents attended last year’s conference and more are expected this year.

The event is free and family friendly, but everyone is encouraged to register so organizers can plan the supplies for workshops, youth activities and box lunches (vegetarian available). Register before November 7 and receive a free T-shirt! 

Again, the event is FREE, but donations of supplies for City of Manassas Animal Shelter will be gratefully accepted at the door:  paper towels, disinfectant wipes, dog/cat food, kitty litter or large trash bags.
