'100% Preventable:' Family Of Landlord Killed In Manassas Raises Money For Funeral
Joyce Gould was killed at her home in Manassas on Sunday. Her family has set up a fundraiser to help cover her funeral costs.
MANASSAS, VA — On Sunday morning, Joyce Gould was found dead in the kitchen at her home in Manassas, authorities said. Gould was a landlord, and investigators believe one of her tenants killed her during a dispute.
Now, Gould's family has started a fundraiser to help cover the cost of her funeral.
Tim Gould is Joyce's brother; he started a GoFundMe campaign on Monday.

"Murder is the most painful experience I’ve ever felt, as it is 100 percent preventable," Tim Gould wrote. "May you rest in eternal peace, Joyce."
As of Wednesday morning, the GoFundMe had raised $7,370 toward a $15,000 goal. More than 100 people have donated to Gould's family.

"Joyce was a sister, mom and grandmother to her grandson who she adored with every fabric of her being," Tim Gould wrote.
Lynn O'Neill, one of Gould's relatives, wrote about the fundraiser on her Facebook page.
"Joyce was my cousin — her life was taken from her in a horrific way on Sunday," O'Neill wrote. "Very hard to wrap my head around the tragedy."
Joyce's tenants found her on her kitchen floor on Sunday afternoon. When first responders arrived, they found that Joyce had been shot. They pronounced her dead at the scene.
One of Joyce's other tenants, 61-year-old Roger Foote Jr., has been charged with her murder. Foote was arrested in Fairfax County on Monday morning.
