Father Drives Into Man, Shoots Another At Nokesville Crash Site

The father of a 19-year-old Nokesville resident ran his car into a man and shot another man Sunday night, according to police.

NOKESVILLE, VA โ€” The father of a 19-year-old Nokesville resident ran his car into a man and shot another man Sunday night, both of whom were trying to help his son remove his Chevrolet Camaro from a ditch, according to the Prince William County Police Department.

At about 10:30 p.m. Sunday, police officers responded to the 10500 block of Flory Road in Nokesville to investigate a shooting. The officers learned that the driver of a 2012 Chevrolet Camaro, Evan Christopher Hill, 19, was driving on Flory Road with two female occupants, when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a ditch.

After the crash, two men known to the female occupants arrived to help in removing the car from the ditch. As they tried to help, Hill began to fight with one of the men, identified as a 26-year-old. As the fight was occurring, Hill's father, Justin Donald Hill, 51, arrived at the location and allegedly drove his vehicle into the man involved in the fight with his son, according to the police.

After the victim was struck by the vehicle, the other man who accompanied the victim, identified as a 23-year-old, confronted the father over the incident. During that encounter, Justin Hill brandished a handgun and shot the man in the leg. Everyone was still at the scene when officers arrived.

Both victims were transported to an area hospital for treatment of injuries from they are expected to survive. Officers learned that Evan Hill was allegedly intoxicated at the time of the crash and was subsequently arrested. Officers also arrested his father.

The two female occupants in the vehicle at the time of the crash, identified as a 23-year-old and 19-year-old, were not injured.

Evan Hill was charged with driving under the influence. Justin Hill, the father, was charged with two counts of malicious wounding. Both were jailed without bond, police said.
