Felony Child Neglect Charges For Manassas Couple

Two people were arrested Wednesday after police found a 5-year-old girl in a filthy home amid evidence of drug use in Manassas: PWC Police.

MANASSAS, VA — Two people were arrested Wednesday after police found a 5-year-old girl in a filthy home amid evidence of drug use in the 11100 block of Stagestone Way, according to Prince William County Police. Nicholas Paul Mavrommatis, 29, and Karina Elizabeth Cornejo, 28, both of the aforementioned address, were charged with felony child neglect. Mavrommatis is being held without bond and Cornejo was released on a $5,000 secured bond.

Shortly after 1 p.m., police went to the residence after receiving a report of disorderly conduct. When they arrived, they found the two adults and the child. They found evidence of narcotics use and "deplorable living conditions." The child was released into the custody of another family member.
