Felony Child Neglect Charges For Manassas Woman

A Manassas woman who let her two young children play in the street was arrested for felony child neglect: Prince William County Police.

MANASSAS, VA — A mother who apparently allowed her two young children to play in the street in the 8300 block of Sinclair Mill Road Tuesday afternoon was arrested the same day, according to Prince William County Police. Traci Michelle Sharp, 30, of the 8300 block of Jill Brenda Court, was charged with two counts of felony child neglect.

Shortly after 4 p.m., police responded to the scene for a report of potential child neglect. A caller told police she was driving in the aforementioned area when she saw two unsupervised children playing in the street. The caller also told police she saw the mother drive by the location 45 minutes later.

After police responded to the 8300 block of Jill Brenda Court to check on the children's welfare, no one was home. But the residence was in disarray, according to officers. Sharp and her kids arrived home shortly thereafter, and Sharp was arrested.
