Former Eagles Heading to College, Athletic Scholarships In Hand

Athletic scholarships awarded to seven former Eagle standouts

College is starting earlier this year for some of Osbourn’s most recent graduates after seven Eagles were awarded athletic scholarships from different universities, according to Dorothy Clemmons, the College and Career Coordinator at Osbourn.

Timmy Keith, Marcus Matthews, Dominique Terrell, and Lucky Whitehead all received athletic scholarships for football. Keith was awarded a total of $100,000 from Western Michigan University, Matthews received $180,000 from the University of Miami of Ohio, Terrell was granted $96,000 from the University of Virginia, and Whitehead received $86,000 from Dean Junior College.

Two other Osbourn alums received athletic scholarships for a fall sport other than football. Zach Hoover and Jordan Tatum will both be continuing their soccer careers at the next level. Hoover was awarded a $22,400 scholarship from Virginia Tech University and Tatum received an undisclosed amount from the University of Maryland.

Casie Boyle is the only athletic scholarship recipient from Osbourn who participates in a sport outside of the fall season. Boyle was granted a $32,000 scholarship from the University of North Carolina Wilmington to join the university’s swimming and diving team.
