Frankie Short, 83

FRANKIE A. SHORT, age 83, passed away on Friday, September 19, 2014 at Westminister of Lake Ridge in Woodbridge, VA.

She was born on January 24, 1931 in Fanrock, West Virginia to the late John and Jenny (Christian) Altizer. She was a devoted member of Hatcher’s Memorial Baptist Church and retired as a first grade school teacher in Prince William County.

Mrs. Short is predeceased by her parents, her husband, Carmel Jerry Short; two sons: Timothy Randall Short and Steven Eric Short; one daughter: Deidre Lynn Short and four sisters: Helen Lusk, Tiny Whitten, M’ledge Altizer and Opal Thomas.

Survivors include one son: John Short and wife Audrey of Manassas, VA; one grandson: Adam Christopher Short of Manassas, VA; one sister: Juanita Lusk of Trace Fork, WV; two brothers: David Altizer and wife Elsie of South Williamson, Kentucky and Douglas Altizer and wife Joan of Barboursville, WV; brother-in-law: Ralph Whitten of Fanrock, WV and a host of dear family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas, VA where services will take place on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Todd Pyle officiating. Interment will be held at Altizer Family Cemetery in Fanrock, WV.

A reception will be held immediately following the service at Hatcher’s Memorial Baptist Church on Barbee Road in Brentsville, VA.
