Gainesville Teen Charged In Connection With Fatal Stabbing: Police
A 40-year-old man was fatally stabbed at a home in Gainesville early Wednesday morning. An 18-year-old has been charged with murder.
GAINESVILLE, VA — A 40-year-old man was fatally stabbed at a home in Gainesville early Wednesday morning, according to the Prince William County Police Department.
Police officers arrested a suspect, Dajuan Amant’e Sandlain, 18, of Gainesville, and charged him with murder in the fatal stabbing of Lionel L. Brown of Gainesville.
A family member of Brown’s, Laila Hallie Brown, 18, was also arrested and charged with accessory after the fact.

Shortly after 1 a.m. on Wednesday, Prince William County police officers went to a residence in the 15100 block of Santander Dr. in Gainesville to investigate a stabbing. Upon arriving at the home, the officers saw Brown laying on the floor suffering from stab wounds to the upper body and provided immediate first aid until rescue personnel arrived.
Police said they learned that Lionel Brown and Laila Hallie Brown were arguing. Sandlain heard the argument while on the phone with Laila Hallie Brown. Sandlain then went to the Brown residence with a knife, where he stabbed Lionel Brown, the police said.

Sandlain then fled the home with Laila Hallie Brown. Police said they found both Sandlain and Laila Hallie Brown at a nearby home, where they were detained without incident.
Charged with murder, Sandlain is being held in jail without bond, the police said. A court date has yet to be set. Laila Hallie Brown also is being held without bond, with a court date pending, the police said.
