Gainesville Bank Robbery Suspect Identified As Hamilton Man
Prince William County Police say Josiah Jor-El Jackman, 39, of Hamilton is the man who took his own life as they tried to arrest him.
ASHBURN, VA — The suspected bank robber who is believed to have taken his own life as police tried to arrest him April 14 has been identified as Josiah Jor-El Jackman, 39, of Hamilton.
Loudoun County deputies were looking for Jackman in connection with a robbery at Capital One Bank in Gainesville April 1. As they attempted to arrest him, police say Jackman barricaded himself in a house in Hamilton and took his own life.
A man suspected of being Jackman’s accomplice, Paul Peter Gerardi Jr., was arrested on April 14 by Fairfax County Police. He faces charges of robbery and conspiracy to commit a felony.

Jackman appears to have several past convictions in the Virginia court system, including being drunk in public in 2021 and reckless driving in 2022.
