Gainesville Resident Arrested For Road Rage Shooting: Police

A 22-year-old man was arrested for allegedly shooting at another vehicle in a road rage incident in Gainesville last Friday.

GAINESVILLE, VA — A 22-year-old man was arrested for allegedly shooting at another vehicle in a road rage incident in Gainesville last Friday around noon, the Prince William County Police Department said. The man, Brady Michael Simmons of Gainesville has been charged with brandishing a firearm and shooting into an occupied vehicle.

The other man reported to police that the incident happpened while he was driving on Lee Highway in Gainesville. Simmons allegedly brandished a firearm before shooting at the victim’s vehicle. The victim pulled over in the area of Linton Hall Road and Lee Highway and notified police. No injuries were reported.

The passenger side of the victim’s vehicle sustained damage from the shooting. The victim observed the license plate on the suspect's vehicle, which led officers to locate Simmons, the police said.

The weapon located by officers was later determined to be a BB gun. Simmons is scheduled to appear in court on July 7.
