Halloween Sirens At Manassas Mall

When kids show up Halloween night for treats throughout Manassas Mall at participating stores, their parents are welcome to spend money.

MANASSAS, VA — Now, this is a pretty shrewd move on the part of the good folks at Manassas Mall, 8300 Sudley Road. Actually, it's something many shopping malls in the country happen to do every Halloween. As business models go, this one's spooking good.

Namely, kids are invited to spend 5-7 Halloween night, Oct. 31, at the mall. They're urged to wear their favorite costumes, and treats will be available throughout the mall at participating stores. Exactly what type of treats is not explained, but presumably they won't be giving away diamonds at Zales.

Parents aren't urged to do anything, except, you know, drive their kids to the mall. Nope. Of course, inasmuch that they'll be in the mall for a while, hey, feel free to spend money.
