High-Speed Chase Leads To Charges For Manassas Man: Police

A Manassas man led state troopers on a high-speed chase through Fauquier County on Tuesday night before his arrest, authorities said.

MANASSAS, VA — A high-speed chase through Fauquier County led to several criminal charges for a Manassas man on Tuesday, Virginia State Police officials said.

No injuries were reported in the chase, which reached speed of 90 mph, authorities said.

Authorities identified the Manassas man as 25-year-old Cristian N. Valle. Valle is charged with one felony count of eluding law enforcement, two felony counts of possession of schedule I/II drug, one misdemeanor count of possession of schedule IV drug, one misdemeanor count of driving under the influence of drugs (DUID), one misdemeanor count possession of a concealed weapon, one misdemeanor count of driving without a license license, and one misdemeanor count of reckless driving.

Valle is being held without bond at the Fauquier Adult Detention Center.

Around 8 a.m. on Tuesday, authorities in Fauquier County told local law enforcement to be on the lookout for a Honda Accord that was driving recklessly. A state trooper reported seeing the car driving southbound on Route 29 near Route 17, according to the police report.

The trooper tried to pull over the Honda, but the driver didn't stop, authorities said. The trooper began a chase.

Virginia State Police officials said the Honda reached speeds of 90 mph during the chase.

The chase continued onto northbound Route 29, where authorities used a Precision Immobilization Technique that caused the Honda to run off the road. Valle tried to run from the crashed car, but troopers took him into custody, according to the report.

Two passengers in Valle's car were initially detained. They were later released and no charges were filed against them.
