House Burglar Prompts Manhunt In Manassas: Police

MANASSAS, VA — Manassas City Police have revealed burglary as the reason for Monday's large police response on Stonewall Road.

Around 12:15 p.m. Monday, officers responded to the 8600 block of Stonewall Road for a burglary while residents were not home. An officer saw the suspect fleeing into the woods behind the home, prompting police to establish a perimeter. Police called in additional resources, including a K9 unit from Prince William County Police and the Fairfax County Police helicopter.

After an extensive search, police did not find the suspect. Detectives continue to investigate and ask for information to be reported to 703-257-8000. A suspect description was not available.
