House Fire In Haymarket Caused 'Extensive Damage,' Injured 1 Resident
One person was injured when a house caught fire in Haymarket on Sunday evening. The home sustained "extensive damage", authorities said.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — A house fire in Haymarket on Sunday evening injured one person, according to a report from the Prince William County Department of Fire and Rescue. The fire displaced two people.
Officials with the fire marshal's office have not determined what caused the fire. The investigation is still ongoing.
The fire broke out around 8:30 p.m. on Sunday evening. At that time, units from the department of fire and rescue responded to the home in the 4000 block of Lawnvale Drive in Haymarket.

When units arrived on the scene, the single-family home was fully engulfed in flames, officials said in a news release. An occupant told authorities that they had returned home when they encountered heavy fire and smoke.

There were no fire hydrants in the rural area near the home, so firefighters used tanker trucks to shuttle water to the home.
The occupant was taken to a nearby medical facility to receive treatment for injuries caused by the blaze. Their injuries were not considered life-threatening, authorities said.
The fire displaced two residents who lived in the home. The home sustained "extensive damage," the fire department said. The cause of the fire is still being investigated by the fire marshal's office.
