House Fire Kills 2 People In Fauquier County
Fauquier County officials are invesitgating a house fire in the Orlean community that started late Wednesday night and killed two people.
FAUQUIER COUNTY, VA — Fauquier County officials are invesitgating a house fire in the Orlean community that started late Wednesday night and killed two people. The bodies of the two victims were transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Manassas, according to the Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff's emergency communications center received a call just after 11 p.m. Wednesday from a resident on Dullins Ford Road who said their neighbor’s house was on fire. Fire units and sheriff's deputies arrived a short time later to find a single-family house facing structural collapse due to the fire.
Early Thursday morning, investigators found the body of a female inside the home. The body of a second victim, a male, was found inside the house around 1 p.m. Thursday, according to the sheriff's office. The fire occurred at a house in the 8100 block of Dullins Ford Road, in the Orlean area off of Leeds Manor Road (Route 688), about eight miles west of Warrenton.

The cause and origin of the fire is unknown at this time and is under investigation by sheriff’s office fire investigators and the Fire Marshall’s Office. Personnel working at the fire scene are being supported by The Bridge Community Church Canteen Unit.
The sheriff's office said it is withholding the names of the victims pending forensic examination.
