House Of Mercy Seeks Underwear Thursday In Manassas

The House of Mercy is having a new underwear drive all day Thursday. Just drive through the parking lot and drop off a package of undies.

MANASSAS, VA — For some folks of any age, clean underwear isn't a given. And for others, underwear itself isn't an option. That's one reason the House of Mercy, 8170 Flannery Court, is having a "U is for Undies" drive-thru event all day Thursday. People are urged to buy a new package of underwear of any type, size or gender, drive through the parking lot and toss them into a bin.

According to House of Mercy, welfare workers and school nurses both locally and nationally report that nearly half of the U.S. population is "going commando," that is, sans any underwear at all. Some people say they're forced to choose between buying food or buying underwear.
