I-66 Crash Kills Man Wednesday in Manassas: Police
The man was headed west. At mile marker 44 he ran off the road, struck a highway maintenance truck and overturned: Virginia State Police.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — One person was killed late Monday morning in a two-vehicle crash on westbound Interstate 66 at the 44 mile marker, according the Virginia State Police.
Shortly after 11:30 a.m., police responded to the scene, where an investigation found a pickup ran off the right side of the road and slammed into a highway maintenance truck that had its safety board lights activated and then overturned.
The driver of the pickup, Lansing M. Dow Jr., 52, of Haymarket, was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died later Wednesday.

A highway worker from Springfield suffered non life-threatening injuries.
Three maintenance trucks were parked on the right shoulder for the active highway work zone, and all had on their safety lights.

He was not identified pending notification of next of kin.
