James Joseph Kenneally died peacefully on 14 September 2014 in Manassas Virginia.
He was a kind and true gentleman who was blessed and thankful. Born in Cambridge MA, he lived nearly 70 of his 89 years in Virginia. After Naval service in WW II, he spent his life as a leader in grocery management.
Beloved husband of the late Margaret (O’Carroll) Kenneally, he is also predeceased by his son James Greg Kenneally. His last years were joyful at the Fairmont Independent Living Community and being part of Holy Trinity Catholic Church congregation.
His son, Michael Yerry Kenneally (and his wife, Mary Tate Kenneally) of Gainesville VA., survive him. He leaves behind three siblings: his half sister, Kathleen Torchia (husband Michael) and two half brothers Daniel (wife Veronica) and Joseph (wife Louise) all in Hudson, NY. Four grandchildren; Scott Kenneally of Columbia SC; Sean Kenneally of Mt. Pleasant SC; Shannon Thomas of Charlotte NC; Kelly Kenneally of Annadale VA; and two great grand-grandchildren also survive him.
A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, 19 Sept 2014 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 8213 Linton Hall Road, Gainesville VA. Interment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial donations to the American Heart Association https://donate.heart.org.
