Joe Gibbs' Youth For Tomorrow Christens New Program in Bristow

Former Washington Redskins coach began the organization aiding at-risk youths more than 30 years ago.

BRISTOW, VA — Some 30 years ago, when then-Washington Redskins coach Joe Gibbs was in the process of leading the team to four Super Bowls with three wins, he did something else.

He founded Youth For Tomorrow, an entity geared toward providing programs and services for at-risk youth, and with the ribbon-cutting Saturday at Bristow, the foundation now hosts five different residential programs serving children throughout Northern Virginia, including a nationally-recognized program for young sex traffic victims.

Gibbs has remained active with the organization despite moving to North Carolina to oversee the NASCAR teams he owns.

The new 5,000 square-feet girls residence was constructed by HomeAid Northern Virginia, via the donated labor, expertise and resources of the local homebuilding industry.

For what it's worth, Gibbs was on hand Sunday at FedEx Field for the Redskins's comeback win against the Cleveland Browns.
