Said Karlson in a statement: "John, our team, and I have had a great first year of operations. With our Open House, we want to celebrate our first anniversary with our local business partners, our many followers, the community, and our family and friends."

Last month, KO announced plans to expand and invest $675,000 in site improvements and equipment needed to expand its distillery, tasting room, and remote-licensed ABC store, tripling production capacity at its existing location.

Founded in 2013 and opened in 2015, the business produces gin and white whiskey, and has begun production of aged bourbon, wheat and rye whiskeys. KO is available in Virginia ABC Stores and throughout D.C.
