Man Arrested For Assault In Manassas: Police

A man who accosted an acquaintance from behind, assaulted and robbed him before fleeing in Manassas was arrested Tuesday: PWC Police.

MANASSAS, VA — A man who accosted an acquaintance from behind Monday night, assaulted him and then took his money before fleeing on foot in the 7400 block of Stream Walk Lane was arrested Tuesday, according to Prince William County Police. Thomas Jeffery Lerchenfeld, 36, of the 200 block of Manassas Drive in Manassas Park, was charged with robbery. He's being held without bond.

Shortly before 11:30 p.m., police arrived at the scene for a report of a robbery. The victim, a 25-year-old Manassas man, said he more or less was assaulted out of the blue by the suspect. A warrant was issued, and he later was arrested without incident.
