Man Assaults Multiple People, Including Cop, in Manassas: Police

The suspect got into a fight and then began his rampage, according to Prince William County Police, who had an officer kicked in the leg.

MANASSAS, VA — A man who assaulted several acquaintances and then assaulted a responding officer in the 7400 block of Pinehurt Lane was arrested in the wee hours of Friday morning, according to Prince William County Police.

Douglas Orellana-Acosta, 32, of the aforementioned address, was charged with one count of assault and battery on a law enforcement officer, two counts of domestic assault and battery, two counts of assault and battery and one count of obstruction of justice.

Shortly before 1 a.m., police responded to the residence where the 18-year-0ld victim told police she and Orellana-Acosta got into a fight, during which he assaulted her and then punched two witnesses who tried to intervene.

When officers tried to arrest him, he resisted until being put into a police cruiser, after which he kicked a cop in the leg.

Minor injuries were arrested, and Orellana-Acosta is being held without bond.
