NOKESVILLE, VA — A man died in a drowning at Lake Manassas Sunday evening, according to Prince William County Police.

Around 4:46 p.m., police responded to the drowning at 9030 Burwell Rd. in Nokesville. Police say a 45-year-old man and relative were swimming in the lake when he appeared to struggle and disappeared in the water.

Fire and rescue responded and pulled the man from the water. He was pronounced dead, and the body was taken to the medical examiner for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

Police do not believe there was foul play in the death. The investigation continues. The man's identity has not been released to the public.
