Manassas Resident Dies From Multiple Gunshot Wounds: Police

MANASSAS, VA — A Manassas man found with multiple gunshot wounds in Manassas Thursday night died later at the hospital, according to the Manassas City Police Department. Another man found in the same location also suffering from gunshot wounds is expected to survive, the police said.

At around 10:10 p.m. Thursday, officers from the Manassas City Police Department responded to the 8600 block of Bruton Parish Court to investigate a shooting that had just occurred. Upon their arrival, the police found the two men suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Police used officers used department-issued trauma kits to provide first aid to both victims until rescue personnel arrived at the scene. Both victims were transported to area hospitals. The Manassas resident, Tommy Campbell, 49, died at the hospital as a result of his injuries. The other victim is listed in stable condition.

Detectives have identified Christopher Buckner, a 31-year-old resident of Manassas Park, as a suspect in this case. He is wanted for murder, aggravated malicious wounding, and two counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, the Manassas police said.

The Manassas City/Manassas Park Crime Solvers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to Buckner's arrest.
