Man Shot At Hotel By Police Serving Warrant: Report

As he was trying to escape, the man got into a fight with a cop and was shot, according to the report.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — A police officer shot a man during a scuffle at a southeastern Prince William County motel Friday morning, according to reports. The cop, working with the U.S. Marshals Service, was attempting to serve the man with several warrants when the man tried to flee.

Spokesperson Sgt. Jonathan Perok said the incident was at the Days Inn on Old Stage Road, according to Inside NoVa.

Inside NoVa reported that the man, who was only described as an adult male, escaped through a window as police entered his room. Then, Perok said, he "confronted a member of the task force, leading to a physical altercation."

That's when the man was shot, leading to serious injuries. Nobody else was hurt during the incident.

He was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
