Man Threatened With Machete, Bat In Manassas: Police

A man was arrested after threatening another man with a machete and a bat Saturday in Manassas, according to Prince William County Police.

MANASSAS, VA—A man was arrested after threatening another man with a machete and a bat Saturday in the 10000 block of Portsmouth Road, according to Prince William County Police. Bryant Adolfo Canales-Moran, 20, of the 9900 block of Henrico Street in Manassas, was charged with attempted malicious wounding, assault and battery and brandishing a machete.

Shortly before 5 p.m., police arrived at the scene for a reported fight involving weapons and saw a man running away from the area. He was caught and detained after a short chase.

Police found that Canales-Moran and a 30-year-old man were involved in an argument that escalated. That's when Canales-Moran grabbed a bat and a machete from his nearby vehicle. At one point, he swung the machete at the victim. No injuries were reported.
