MANASSAS, VA — The sights of moving trucks and unpacking boxes at Manassas City Hall means services are starting to return after a two-year building renovation.

The City of Manassas said departments and services are transitioning back to Manassas City Hall, 9027 Center St. in June after the renovation project. City Hall will officially reopen at 8:30 a.m. on June 24.

The $15.9 million City Hall renovation project provided upgrades like a new roof, generator, windows, elevator, HVAC system, plumbing, electrical and data system. More community space and public art display place was provided, along with conversion of hallways into usable space and reorganization of department office space. The 31,000-square-foot building also received exterior façade upgrades and is more energy efficient. The building dates back to 1987.

"I believe our residents and customers will find the new layout easier for them to navigate and
conduct business," says Interim City Manager Douglas Keen. "It also adds a much-needed
community conference room, something our community has asked for. I am looking forward to
getting staff back in one location so we can be more efficient in our operations."

During the move-in transition, the city is keeping its Customer Service Center at 9800 Godwin Drive will stay open for permits, business licenses and tax payments open until June 28. The Social Services department will remain at 9324 West St. The city says no service disruptions are expected during the moving process.
