The soccer coach, identified as Vince Villanueva by NBC Washington, is recovering from his injuries, he told the news station.

“I saw one of the players kind of off with his dad, and he looked upset, and I said, ‘Are you ready to go back in?’ The dad said, ‘No, he’s not OK. Can I talk to you?’ and I said, 'Sure,’” Villanueva told NBC Washington.

Villanueva said he turned to talk to the father, and the next thing he knew, he was on the ground.

"And then I heard like a ding noise, and I realized I was getting hit in the head with a water bottle,” he told the station.

Hoxha is currently being held without bond.

Hoxha has a history of violence, according to previous reports. In 2012, he was charged after authorities said he shot a 46-year-old man and a 22-year-old man at the Sheetz convenience store at 8504 Centreville Rd. in Manassas Park.

Hoxha later pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 10 years in prison with six years suspended, WTOP reported.

While in jail, Hoxha was convicted of unlawfully wounding another inmate, according to WTOP.
