Manassas Health Inspections: Aka Sushi, The Fairmont, Mama Mia Pizza

MANASSAS, VA — Several facilities around Manassas recorded violations during inspections from the Prince William Health District from Sept. 14 to Sept. 20.

Most COVID-19 restrictions have relaxed around the state, and health inspectors are returning to conduct many restaurant and other health inspections in person. However, some visits, such as those for training purposes, can be conducted virtually.

Violations typically focus on factors that can contribute to food contamination. The local health department can also perform a re-inspection to ensure that possible violations have been corrected.

For every observed violation, the inspector provides a specific corrective action that can be completed to rectify the violation. Sometimes these are simple, and violations can be corrected during the course of the inspection. Other violations are addressed later, and an inspector may conduct a follow-up inspection to ensure compliance.

    • The waste lines from the 2 compartment prep sinks (vegetable prep sink, downstairs & main dish prep sink, downstairs) are directly plumbed. In the bakery area, downstairs, the waste lines from the 2 compartment sink extend down into the floor drain.
    • Sliced tomatoes and cut lettuce that were just prepared were found stored on the service line #1 and in the Hobart 3 door refrigerator on line #1 at the following temperatures: sliced tomatoes, 48 and 49 degrees F cut lettuce, 53 and 48 degrees F
      Spray bottles of chemicals stored near clean equipment and single service spoons in storage area upstairs.
