Manassas Man Accused Of Kicking PW County Cop During His Arrest

The man was also charged with public intoxication following the incident in Manassas, police said.

MANASSAS, VA — A Manassas man is facing charges after authorities said he kicked a Prince William County police officer while they were trying to detain him.

Jason Edward Egan, 45, was arrested Tuesday night and charged with assault and battery on a law enforcement officer and public intoxication in connection with the incident, police said in a news release.

According to police, the incident occurred around 8:20 p.m. in the 8000 block of Centreville Road in Manassas as officers were investigating a domestic dispute.

Police said Egan was involved in the dispute and left the area before officers arrived at the home. He was located a short time later and taken into custody.

As officers were attempting to detain him, police said Egan became agitated and kicked an officer.

The officer was not injured, authorities said.
