Manassas Man Accused Of Thefts From 7-11, McDonald's, Shell Station
A Manassas man was arrested on Monday and charged in connection with a series of recent thefts from businesses in the area, police said.
MANASSAS, VA — A Manassas man has been charged in connection with a series of thefts at area businesses, the Manassas City Police Department announced.
Authorities identified the man as 26-year-old Zaki Scott. He is charged with three counts of petit larceny. Scott is being held without bond at the Prince William County Adult Detention Center.
If convicted of all charges, Scott could face up to three years in prison.

Investigators believe Scott stole money from at least three local businesses: the Shell station in the 10100 block of Hastings Drive, the McDonald's in the 10200 block of Dumfries Road, and the 7-11 in the 8900 block of Godwin Drive.
Authorities received a tip about Scott's whereabouts around 1 a.m. on Monday morning. When officers approached Scott in the 9200 block of Park Avenue, he ran away, police said. He was eventually taken into custody.

According to court records, Scott was arrested on Oct. 31 on a separate charge of grand larceny. He was originally released on his own recognizance before he was arrested again on Monday.
If convicted of grand larceny, Scott could face up to 20 years in prison, based on Virginia's sentencing guidelines.
