Manassas Police Verify State Registration Of Fundraising Group

The Manassas City Police Department verified that the Virginia Youth Club of America is a registered charitable group with the state.

MANASSAS, VA — The Manassas City Police Department verified that the Virginia Youth Club of America, a group that had been sending representatives door-to-door in the city seeking donations from residents, is registered with the state. The police department had received questions from residents about the group.

The group is registered with the Office of Charitable and Regulatory Programs as required by the Virginia Solicitation of Contributions Law, the police department said Thursday.

The police department itself had expressed concern that representatives from the group were distributing a flier that mentioned the police department and some of its employees.
