The Prince William Health District recorded violations at a pair of facilities in the Manassas area during recent inspections.

MANASSAS, VA — A pair of facilities in the Manassas area recorded violations during recent health department inspections between Dec. 28 and Jan. 3.

Most COVID-19 restrictions have relaxed around the state, and health inspectors are returning to conduct many restaurant and other health inspections in person. However, some visits, such as those for training purposes, can be conducted virtually.

Violations typically focus on factors that can contribute to food contamination. The local health department can also perform a re-inspection to ensure that possible violations have been corrected.

      • The dumpster was open and trash surrounding the trash can.
      • There was no written procedure during the inspection to show how to clean vomit and diarrhea.
  • Kiddie Academy of Gainesville, 13980 Estate Manor Dr Gainesville, VA 20155
    • Date inspected: Dec. 28
    • Total violations: 5
      • There were 4 cantaloupes that were molded.
      • There was a container of jelly not inside the original container that did not have the date of the manufacturing discard by date.
      • A container of purple liquid was in a spray bottle without proper labeling of substance.
      • The person in charge that was cooking and handling food did not have a hair restraint on.
      • The container holding the clean utensils were placed in a way that would be means of contamination. Also the plates and cups were turned upward that could means of contamination.
