Manassas St. Patrick's Day Parade Returns In 2024

MANASSAS, VA — Everyone can be Irish for a day as the Greater Manassas St. Patrick’s Day Parade returns to Old Town Manassas Saturday, March 9. The parade will run along Center Street from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The parade celebrates Irish American heritage with music, bagpipes, Irish dancing and more entertainment. Participating restaurants may also serve special foods to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. Attendees are encouraged to dress in green. The parade will be held rain or shine.

The parade route starts at Prescott Avenue and Quarry Road, continues on Prescott Avenue around, turns on Center Street and continues down Center Street to West Street. The parade reviewing stand is located at West and Center Streets. It will end around the entrance to the Harris Pavilion past West Street.

Expect road closures on the parade route, including parts of Center Street, Prescott Avenue, and Quarry Road. Public parking is recommended in public lots around Old Town Manassas.

Parade organizers encourage spectators to arrive one hour early to get a spot along the parade route. "Low profile chairs" are allowed. Families are asked to watch their children and animals.

Parade marshals wearing yellow safety vests will be stationed throughout the parade route. Spectators are asked to stay out of the roadway and parade processional and avoid the active railroad tracks near the parade route.

The Greater Manassas St. Patrick's Day Parade was first organized by the Father Kelley Division of the Ancient Order of Hibernians in 2000. The parade continues under the nonprofit Inisfail, Inc., which is named after the ancient name for Ireland meaning "Isle of Destiny."
