Manassas Woman Killed in Car Wreck Friday in Centreville: Police

The 22-year-old passenger was ejected from the vehicle after it ran off the road; driver was arrested for DWI, say Fairfax County Police.

CENTREVILLE, VA — A Manassas woman was ejected from a car and killed during an early morning accident Friday in the 7200 block of Ordway Road, according to Fairfax County Police.

Darling Ramirez, 22, the lone passenger, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver, Carlos Lopez Umanzor, 31, of Manassas, was charged with driving while intoxicated after being treated for injuries that weren't life threatening.

Shortly before 1 a.m., police responded to the scene and found an overturned Toyota Scion on southbound Ordway Road. Their investigation found the car had been speeding, crossed over the double yellow lines to pass a vehicle and then ran off the road and rolled.

That's when Ramirez, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was thrown from the vehicle.

Police say additional charges against Umanzor are pending.
