MANASSAS, VA — Kelly Coyne was on a winning streak. The Manassas woman had played a Scratcher game from the Virginia Lottery and won $30. So she used part of the winnings to buy another ticket, and this time won $50. That’s when she decided to buy a third ticket: Millionaire Maker.

When she scratched that ticket, she discovered she’d won the $1 million top prize.

“I showed it to the store owner,” she told Lottery officials. “He said, ‘Congratulations, Kelly. Now put it away and go home!’”
