Marco's Pizza Apparently Coming to Manassas

MANASSAS, VA — A nationwide pizza chain apparently has plans to open a restaurant in the city.

Marco's Pizza, a delivery and carryout pizza chain, says on its website that an establishment is "coming soon" to 10470 Dumfries Road.

Meanwhile, the Richmond Times-Dispatch reported this week that the chain will be opening up to 17 new locations in the Richmond area and as many as 25 across the state within the next few years.

Joe Walker, the chain's Virginia representative, could not immediately be reached for comment.

Amanda Szparka, a Marco's marketing rep, did not immediately return a call for comment.

Headquartered in Toledo, Ohio, Marco's touts itself as the fastest-growing pizza company in the United States based on the number of stores signed into development since 2007.

It says it has added 113 new stores for a total of more than 700 stores in 35 states, doubling in size over the last five years and on the fast track to 1000 stores by the end of 2017.
