Memorial Dedication Set for Longtime Prince William County Library Employee
Meredith Murphree died of cancer in 2014; was applauded for work with community libraries.

HAYMARKET, VA — A permanent memorial for a longtime Prince William County library employee will be dedicated 5:30 p.m. Aug. 25 at the Haymarket-Gainesville Community Library.
Meredith Murphree, 62, died of cancer Dec. 2014.
According to a release from the Prince William Public Library System, Murphree began her career with the Prince William Public Library System in Dec. 1983 as a part-time circulation assistant at Central Library, worked briefly as a data entry clerk in Technical Services before being promoted to Gainesville Neighborhood Library Supervisor in 1986.

She was instrumental, the release added, in the opening of the fifth neighborhood library on May 16, 1987 and served as its manager for 26 years until Dec. 2013.
