Molotov Cocktail, Vandals Target Manassas Home
City of Manassas Fire Marshal seeking public tips to solve case.

Investigators are seeking public tips in the case of a suspected Molotov cocktail and vandalism reported at a Manassas home earlier this month.
At 7:30 a.m. on Aug. 11, officers responded to the 9600 block of Shannon Lane regarding a found bottle in the front lawn.
The glass bottle contained an unidentified liquid and a blue cloth, that was partially burned, inserted into the top of the bottle, according to a City of Manassas release.

Laboratory analysis is underway to remove fingerprints from the bottle, identify the liquid and the type of cloth, but it appears to be a Molotov cocktail.
The victim also reported that a vehicle belonging to a resident of the same address was vandalized.
Anyone with information about these events can call the Fire Marshal at 703-257-8455 or Crime Solvers. The Manassas City Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest in this case. The confidential 24-hour tip line is 703-330-0330.
