New Housing Community Near Downtown Manassas Prepares For Construction
A future 247-home community with condos, townhouses and single-family homes will be located close to downtown Manassas.

MANASSAS, VA — A new community with multiple types of housing near downtown Manassas will break ground in March.
Ashberry, a 247-home community by homebuilder Van Metre Homes, will be located on Main Street, Brent Street and Grant Avenue south of the Manassas Virginia Railway Express station. The 17.5-acre site will have a mix of single family homes, townhomes and condominiums.
The new community near the Virginia Railway Express station supports the city's goal encouraging denser transit-oriented development for car-free commuting.

"We are excited to partner with Van Metre Homes to bring the Ashberry community to life," said Mayor Michelle Davis-Younger in a statement. "This project is a testament to our commitment to fostering growth while preserving the unique charm of our community."
Land development activities started in January, while construction is officially expected to start in summer 2024. Sales of homes could begin in 2025.

"The Ashberry community is designed to meet the evolving needs of modern families while contributing positively to the city's growth."
A groundbreaking ceremony was held at 11 a.m. on March 11 at 9608 Grant Avenue in Manassas. The event featured speakers from the City of Manassas and Van Metre Homes, followed by a ceremonial first dig at 11:30 a.m.
