Nine People Arrested In Manassas Prostitution Sting: Report

The arrests were made after undercover detectives placed online ads soliciting sex and made contact with several area suspects.

MANASSAS, VA — Nine people were arrested last week as a result of a prostitution sting at a Manassas-area hotel, according to a report. The arrests were made after undercover detectives placed online ads soliciting sex and made several contacts with suspects through phone or social media.

Multiple people subsequently were charged with solicitation of prostitution and frequenting a bawdy place, the Prince William Times reported. Prince William County Police charged eight men on both counts, and a 21-year-old of Centreville was also charged with frequenting a bawdy place, solicitation of prostitution and resisting arrest.

The undercover operation was meant to help combat the demand and solicitation of commercial sex services, which has ties to human trafficking in the area, according to a Prince William County Police Department spokesman.
