Novant Health Hires Chief Nursing Officer To Lead Large Team
Novant Health UVA Health System hired a cheif nursing officer from Rhode Island to lead its team of nurses.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — Novant Health UVA Health System named Anne Schmidt as chief nursing officer of the Haymarket Medical Center and the Prince William Medical Center in Manassas where she will lead a large team of nurses who provide essential care and treatment for patients. Schmidt comes to Prince William County from New England where she served as vice president of patient care services and chief nursing officer for South County Health in Wakefield, Rhode Island.
Schmidt earned her doctor of nursing practice degree in healthcare quality from George Washington University. She has a post-master's certificate in nursing administration from the Medical University of South Carolina and a master's degree in adult nurse practitioner/geriatric nursing from the University of San Diego. Her nursing career began more than 30 years in the U.S. Navy Nurse Corps.
"Novant Health UVA Health System has a great reputation for providing high-quality, accessible patient-centered care, and I look forward to contributing to and elevating the outstanding patient experience it provides to the residents of Manassas, Haymarket and the surrounding areas," Schmidt said Wednesday in a statement.
