OHS Football Hopes to Build on Success

Schultze looks for victory to jolt Eagles.

Osbourn (1-2) looks to extend its wining streak this week as they travel to Freedom High School of Woodbridge (0-3) this Friday at 7:30 pm.

The Eagles are coming off a crushing 54-7 victory over Forest Park last week that has both helped and hurt the team.

“The win was great because it has got our spirits up and given us some enthusiasm, but since we played on Saturday it has given us a short work week,” Head Coach Steve Schultze said.

After losing to Brooke Point and Mountain View in the first two weeks, Osbourn found its rhythm against Forest Park. They were electric on offense, posting 465 yards of total offense, and stifling on defense, allowing only 62 yards.

“The way the guys came out and played, it really gave our program a jump start. We are not used to losing, so this win gave us some juice,” Schultze said.

Although the Freedom Eagles are winless, their record does not speak about the talent of their team. Two of the three losses come from Brooke Point and Mountain View.

“They are a big, athletic, and speedy team, they have just not been able to put it together yet. They are the kind of team that can scare you as a coach,” Schultze said.

“We are looking to get a win and get on another roll,” he added.
