Osbourn Remains Undefeated

The Osbourn boys basketball team remains unbeaten after two more wins this past week.

The Osbourn boys basketball team continues to dispose of their competition as they won two more games this past week. On Thursday, the Eagles traveled to Patriot and topped them 83-57 and then made the trip to Freedom on Friday night, winning that game 84-49.

The scary thing for the competition is that Osbourn has continued to get better as the season has progressed. The Eagles won both games this past week very convincingly and they played both games without star point guard, Cedrick Delaney who was resting a sore knee.

The Eagles continued to show that they have the most dynamic offense in the area and also one of the best defenses. Most teams tend to have one or two players that lead the scoring attack on a regular basis, but Osbourn seems to be led by someone different every game. In many games, the whole starting line-up scores in double figures.

Raphael Edwards led Osbourn in the win against Patriot Thursday night, scoring 24 points. Jay Lane also had a big game with 16 points, five rebounds, and five steals. Robert Carter also scored 16, Corey Bedford tallied 11 and Landon Dufrene contributed with 12 rebounds.

In Friday night's victory over Freedom, six players from Osbourn scored in double figures. Edwards led the way once again with 18 points while Bedford was close behind with 14. Lane and Dufrene each poured in 12 while Carter and Mike Quinn both scored 10.

Osbourn has now improved their record to 16-0 overall with this week's victories and 7-0 in the district. The Eagles now have some time to rest any nagging injuries and get some good practice time in as they don't play again until Friday, Jan. 27 when they travel to Battlefield for a 7:30 tip off.
