Pedestrian Dies After Crash On Sudley Manor Drive: Police

Authorities said a pedestrian died from injuries he suffered in a crash on Sudley Manor Drive in Manassas on Wednesday evening.

MANASSAS, VA — A pedestrian died after a crash on Sudley Manor Drive in Manassas on Wednesday, according to the Prince William County Police Department.

The pedestrian, 41-year-old Bhupen Uprety, was flown to a hospital after the crash. He died of his injuries on Thursday, police said.

Authorities identified the driver who hit Uprety as a 42-year-old man from Bristow. He stayed at the scene after the crash and has not been charged.

The crash occurred around 9 p.m. on Wednesday on Sudley Manor Drive past Chatsworth Drive. Investigators said the driver of a 2021 GMC Arcadia was travelling northbound on Sudley Manor Drive when it collided with the Uprety.

Police believe Uprety was walking in the roadway and wearing dark clothing at the time of the crash.

The driver stayed at the scene and called for police and EMS. Authorities said the driver was not impaired and his speed did not contribute to the crash.
