Police Helicopter Not Able To Locate Hotel Robbery Suspects

One of the suspects went to a back office and demanded money from an employee while brandishing a gun.

MANASSAS, VA — Two men robbed a Comfort Inn Suites in Manassas early Monday morning after one of the suspects went behind the front desk and took money from the cash register, the Prince William County Police Department said. No injuries were reported during the armed robbery.

Prince William County police officers went to the hotel, located at 7530 Williamson Blvd., at 1:13 a.m. on Dec. 23 to investigate the robbery. A hotel employee told police that the two unknown men entered the lobby, with one of them going to the back office and demanding money from an employee while brandishing a gun. The other suspect went behind the counter and raided the cash register before they both fled on foot, according to police.

Officers, including a police K-9 and a helicopter from the Fairfax County police department, searched the area for the suspects who were not located. One suspect is described as a black male, five-feet 10-inches tall, in his mid-twenties, and wearing all black clothing with his face covered. The only description of the other male suspect is that he was wearing all black clothing.

Manassas hotels are a common target for robberies. In December 2017, two hotels in Manassas were robbed by armed men in a two-day span. One robbery occurred at the Rimpal Inn on Old Centreville Road on Dec. 5, 2017 and the second armed robbery occurred on Dec. 7, 2017 at the Holiday Inn on Balls Ford Road.

In 2015, a female hotel employee was tied up during an armed robbery at the Candlewood Suites, also on Balls Ford Road in Manassas. The employee told Prince William police that the man entered the hotel and demanded money, while showing a handgun, according to reports.
